Marios Angelopoulos (b. 1961) is an architect with extensive international experience and a strong specialization in hospitality design. He graduated from the Technical University of Karlsruhe (TU), Germany, in 1988 and has worked professionally in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Spain, the United Arab Emirates, and Greece, gaining a broad understanding of diverse architectural, cultural, and regulatory environments.
Over the course of his career, he has developed deep expertise in the design, coordination, and delivery of high-end hospitality projects, working for many years in close collaboration with world-leading international hotel operators, brands, and consultants. This long-term exposure has shaped a thorough understanding of the operational, spatial, and experiential requirements that define contemporary luxury hospitality, from guest experience and back-of-house efficiency to brand identity and long-term asset value.
In Greece, Marios spent a decade with a major multidisciplinary architectural practice, where he was involved in a wide spectrum of projects at all stages of design and project delivery. During this period, he gained significant experience in architectural design, project management, and consultant coordination, progressively assuming senior leadership roles on complex, large-scale developments. His work frequently involved international stakeholders, requiring the integration of global standards and brand requirements within local building practices and regulatory frameworks.
He is a founding partner of archiplus architects & associates, where he remains professionally active. Over the past years, the practice has built a strong reputation for the design of high-end hospitality environments, alongside a parallel specialization in experiential and themed architecture. These projects often combine architecture with technology, scenography, interactive systems, and carefully curated lighting design, aiming to create immersive spatial experiences that engage visitors on multiple sensory levels.
Marios’ work is characterized by a balance between conceptual clarity, operational intelligence, and technical precision. He maintains a hands-on involvement throughout all stages of the architectural process, ensuring that design intent, functional performance, and construction realities are closely aligned.
